Evans RB Jermaine Hardy Scores Game-Winning Touchdown Against Lake Brantley
Hardy's Late Touchdown Gives Trojans Win
Evans High School running back Jermaine Hardy ran for the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter against Lake Brantley High School, giving the Trojans a come-from-behind victory.
With just over four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Hardy took the handoff and ran for a 6-yard touchdown, putting Evans up 15-8. The score would hold, giving the Trojans their first win of the season.
Hardy's touchdown was the culmination of a strong performance by the Trojans' offense. Hardy led the team in rushing with 100 yards on 15 carries, while quarterback Chris Peterson added 94 yards on the ground.
The Trojans' defense also played a key role in the victory, forcing two turnovers and holding Lake Brantley to just 10 points.
"It was a great team effort," said Evans coach Rob Black. "We had a lot of guys step up and make plays tonight."
With the win, Evans improves to 1-1 on the season. The Trojans will look to build on their success when they take on Lyman High School next week.
Hardy's performance is a testament to his hard work and dedication.
"He's a great kid," said Black. "He works hard and is always willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win."
Hardy's success is also a reflection of the strength of the Evans football program.
"We have a great group of kids and a great coaching staff," said Black. "We're excited about the future of this program."
